Rose Corsages
Considering to attend your prom night, other big events? If so, consider a corsage instead of a bouquet. Rose corsages are extremely romantic and make a wonderful alternative to the traditional rose bouquet. The reason for this is because with a corsage you can display the flowers your date gave you while keeping your hands free. Also, corsages let you wear a floral accessory that coordinates with your dress. Roses make the perfect flower when it comes to corsages.
Roses come in more than 100 species and many different colors. There are tea roses, cabbage roses, hybrid roses and many others. Roses range from miniature to quite large. Some have many thorns while others (like the Lady Banks Rose) are relatively thornless. The most traditional color for roses is red, which symbolizes true romantic love. However other colors can be used also and include white, pink, peach, yellow, orange and purple. Silk roses can be dyed to match any dress or color preference. For example you can get black silk roses and blue silk roses which you will never find in nature.
Which brings us to the question which is better, silk flowers or real ones? Silk flowers last forever and will never wilt or die. They can be preserved for ages with no effort and many of them look just like real flowers. Real flowers are traditional and fragrant, but wilt easily and will perish. Real flowers can be dried, frozen or sprayed with fixative in order to preserve them. It's a matter of personal preference when it comes to whether you want a real flower or silk flower for your corsage. You can buy both real flowers and silk flowers in stores and on the Internet.
Rose corsages are more romantic than any other type of corsage such as carnation or orchid. While carnations are great for school dances and orchids are certainly exotic and pretty, nothing beats the romance of the rose. Their velvety petals and alluring scent make them some of the most popular flowers in the world. If you want to give your date a romantic gift then you cannot go wrong when you choose a corsage made with roses. You can buy these corsages at floral shops or even make them yourself if you are crafty.
