Putting together your own wedding bouquet is very satisfying if you have the time and materials that are required to put it together. When choosing flowers think not only about your favorite flowers and favorite colors, but also about things like height and volume. There are many different ways to arrange flowers. You can go for an arrangement that contains only one type of flower. For example, you may want a rose bouquet that is dome shaped and contains 12 to 24 roses. This bouquet would be ideal as a table centerpiece or for a bride. You can also create cascading arrangements, simple arrangements and extensive mixed flower arrangements.

In addition to the flowers you will need a vase or container to put them in. Glass or crystal is always a classic choice, although there are many other options. If your vase is opaque you can use floral foam to secure silk flowers. Cover the foam with faux grasses for a natural look. You can even get a clear acrylic substance that looks like water but isn't. If your flowers are real of course they will need a vase with water to keep them alive as long as possible. You can store a completed bouquet in a plastic container with one inch of water in the bottom to keep it fresh for an event such as a wedding.

You will also need floral shears to clip the stems to the proper length. Green floral tape is a must to bunch the stems together when crafting a bouquet. Choose ribbon that coordinates with your arrangement to cover the floral tape. You can purchase all kinds of bouquet supplies most anywhere that sells silk flowers. As mentioned earlier these supplies can be bought online or at brick and mortar stores. When shopping online it is easier to compare items and prices, just watch out for shipping charges which can make an item more expensive.
